Get Involved!

2 minutes estimated reading time

What a month it has been! As September brings hints of the new autumn season, your friends at Country Court want to talk about ways residents at our Mount Vernon Levering Management facility can stay involved, even if transitioning into this new senior living environment.

The critical thing many of our residents miss when they come to Country Court is time spent with family. Though the pandemic strains family time for high-risk residents, there are still ways to stay connected. Visitors can contact Heather Thomas at 740-397-4125, ext. 3500, to schedule a time to see their resident(s). Visitation lasts 30 minutes and is monitored by a staff member in a designated area. However, we also encourage video chats, which can be arranged through Heather Thomas.

Another way we encourage residents to get involved is through planned weekly activities. This month alone, we’ve been blessed to have Bible study with our friend Brad, a “Lunch Bunch” carry-in consisting of yummy pizza, a resident birthday party, and Chef’s Corner, not to mention the countless games and puzzles. Our full calendar is available on social media each month and on our website.

Finally, we want to mention a volunteer activity our residents enjoyed this month. We used our crafting skills and created Cowabunga Apples for kids at Faith Lutheran Christian preschool, which resemble Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle characters and provide a healthy snack! We are so blessed to give back to our community, even in small ways.
